Bahia is two-LP set that matches together the very different sounding tenors of
John Coltrane and
Paul Quinichette in a jam-session type setting from 1957 (although three of the five songs were actually composed by pianist
Mal Waldron) in addition to
Coltrane's final Prestige date, which also has appearances by the trumpeters
Freddie Hubbard (on "Then I'll Be Tired of You") and an uncredited
Wilbur Harden ("Something I Dreamed Last Night"). This is nice if not overly memorable music.
