Historia de la Salsa is a brief, ten-track compilation of
Johnny Pacheco highlights from the '60s and '70s, extending from his earliest charangas and pachangas ("Oyeme Mulata" and "La Melidía," from 1961) to the last of his great hits from the '70s, "Víralo Al Revés." There's little here beyond what you'd hear in the shortest survey (especially considering the seminal
Pacheco), but it's certainly not a bad place to start at a budget price.
