Album Review

This is 40 minutes' worth of a 500 limited edition, excellent example of the God Is My Co-Pilot sound. Sporadically lapsing into French, the piercing voice of Sharon Topper often declares an urgent, open-eyed, blunt sexuality. Sometimes she is just blunt. Consider the anti-beauty rant of "Pretty Spoiled." Supporting, not instigating, is eclectic instrumentation from guitar, melodica, drums, and two basses. Definitely not easy listening, the music here is abrasively melodic compared to their other releases. It is also one of their most consistent and displays a clear vision. Four of the tracks were recorded in Portugal and figure in different personnel, adding some interesting flavor, like viola.
