One of a series of Russian-made bootleg editions of the authorized Beatles library, this two-CD set is sort of
The White Album-plus, squeezing bonus tracks from the album as well as from off the
Let It Be and
Abbey Road sessions. They're all familiar and often interesting, and also as much a mess together as
The White Album should have been (but wasn't). On the other hand, the set also comprises 140 minutes of uninterrupted Beatles, which isn't so bad. The sound is good, though not as bright as some of the other entries in this series. Oh, and in addition to re-creating the Apple label and logo on the inside, the disc includes a re-creation of
The White Album's sleeve, poster, and pictures all on one insert.
