Album Review

This two-fer from Collectables features a pair of out of print LP's by jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist Art Farmer: To Sweden with Love and Live at the Half Note, both originally issued in 1964. These 11 tracks find two different Farmer-fronted combo's interpreting traditional songs of Sweden: "Den Mostravige Brudgummen (The Reluctant Groom)" and "Kristallen Den Fina (The Fine Crystal)" along with such standards as "What's New?," "I Want to Be Happy," and "I'm Getting Sentimental over You." Recommended to mainstream jazz fans.
