Chi Cheng is the bassist of Southern California alternative metal band the Deftones. In fall 2000, Cheng made his solo debut with the spoken-word release Bamboo Parachute. The 25-track album featuring Cheng's eclectic poetry is available only at Deftones shows and through the band's website (/www.deftones.com}). Half the proceeds of the album go to homeless teens and WEAVE, a Sacremento-based non-profit agency specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault prevention, and victim assistance.
